What is life support equipment?
The following equipment is classified as life support equipment:
- Apnoea monitor (child only*)
CPAP Machine
Feeding pump
Heart pump
Machine assisted peritoneal dialysis equipment
Nebuliser
Oxygen concentrator – standard capacity (Adult only)
Oxygen concentrator – high capacity ‘New Life Intensity’ (Adult only)
Suction Pump
Ventilator – VPAP or BPAP machines

How to register
If you or someone in your household depends on life support, it’s important to register this with Change Energy.
To register, call us at 1300 46 6398 (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). We will send you an application form, or you can download it here.
You’ll need to complete the form, have it signed by your medical practitioner, and return it within 15 business days via:

From January 1st 2026, the following changes will be implemented to the Life Support Equipment (LSE) code
• Customers no longer need to visit a medical specialist just to get their need for LSE “signed off”
• A medical practitioner (e.g. doctor) canconfirm the initial registration.
• A health practitioner (e.g. nurse) can confirm the ongoing need for LSE every three years.
• Facilities like nursing homes need to confirm with the retailer every three years, rather than every year.
• Households with more than one LSE user only update the retailer annually, rather than update for each LSE user.
