Whether you’re setting up a new rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system, upgrading an existing one, or adding a battery or other distributed energy technology, you are required to submit to Change Energy an RRN or ETAF form request – either submitted by you or your solar installer.

RRN Number Request
The Retailer Reference Number (RRN) is a unique identifying number used by Western Power to manage connections between customers and electricity retailers. A RRN number is required for systems <30 kVa.

The Embedded Technology Application Form (ETAF)
It is required for distributed energy resources, rooftop solar PV systems and battery storage to gain approval before connecting to the grid.
An ETAF application is required for systems >30 kVa.
