Your electricity bill is based on data provided by Western Power, the network operator responsible for reading your meter.

If Western Power is unable to obtain an actual meter read – or if you’re a self-reader and haven’t submitted your reading on time – they will send us an estimated reading instead. This estimated usage is then used to generate your invoice.

Once an actual read is available, any difference between the estimate and actual usage will be adjusted on a future bill

How can I tell if my bill has been estimated?

On your invoice under the Account Details tab, on the right hand corner your invoice has a marked Reading Type. When estimate reads have been supplied, this will read as Estimate.

Estimated reads are made in accordance with the estimating rules set out in the WA Electricity Market Metrology Procedure, supplied to us by Western Power.

Recieved an estimated bill? Here’s what to know.

Sometimes, your electricity bill may be based on an estimate rather than an actual meter reading.

Estimated bills can either be higher or lower than your typical usage.

If your bill is higher than expected: If you need more time to pay, please contact us.
If your bill is lower than expected: Keep in mind a future bill may include a catch-up adjustment once an actual meter read is received.
