Small Business & Charities Electricity Bill Relief Program

The Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC) of Western Australia is rolling out the new program, funded by the Commonwealth, offering a one-off payment of A$150 to eligible small businesses and charities in WA that are connected via embedded electricity networks. smallbusiness.wa.gov.au

Key details:

 

  • Payments to customers of Synergy and Horizon Power are automatic (credit applied from 11 Oct 2025). 

  • Businesses in embedded networks (for example in shopping centres, airports, industrial parks, or with a sub-metering arrangement) may apply via the SBDC’s SmartyGrants portal from late October 2025. 

  • Eligibility criteria include: active ABN since 1 July 2025, electricity consumption under 50 MWh/year (or less than A$15,000 electricity cost), business operating on 1 July 2025, commercial premises in WA, and not being a government entity, telco, major mining or resources operator. 

  • The application deadline is 4 pm 31 March 2026.
