Summary of Certified Reserve Capacity

Summary of Certified Reserve Capacity 2025 Key Points

  • The document reports the Certified Reserve Capacity (CRC) assigned by facility for the 2027-28 capacity year (1 October 2027 to 1 October 2028).

  • Two types of capacity are assigned: Peak CRC and Flexible CRC.

  • Total assigned:

    • Peak CRC = 6,375.141 MW

    • Flexible CRC = 4,077.068 MW

How it works and next steps

  • These assignments include only those facilities that:

    1. Completed a Bilateral Trade Declaration, and

    2. Where required, lodged their Reserve Capacity Security (RCS).

  • The assigned CRC is indicative only; the final allocation of capacity credits will depend on further steps, particularly:

    • Assessing Network Access Quantity (NAQ) for each facility (i.e. how much capacity they can actually deliver given network constraints) up to their assigned CRC.

    • Only the portion of CRC up to the NAQ becomes Peak Capacity Credits. Flexible Capacity Credits are capped by Peak Capacity Credits for each facility.
