Rules and Regulations – Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Roadmap

The Energy Transformation Taskforce has undertaken a large amount of work this past year.  A key piece of work is the DER Roadmap which is developed to ensure that the grid can continue to integrate growing levels of solar PV, batteries, and other new technologies.  The state government has released a number of documents regarding the roadmap.

On March 9th, 2019 Energy Minister Bill Johnston launched the Western Australian Energy Transformation Strategy that “will deliver cleaner, affordable and more reliable energy to households and businesses for decades to come.”

The DER Roadmap was released earlier this year.  It sets out a plan to further integrate new technologies demanded by consumers into the wider electricity system.  The aim is to provide flexibility for customer choices, while continuing to have reliable, low cost electricity supply.
